Our mission is to contribute to informed European and international discussions concerning Iran by bringing documented information, policy-relevant perspectives and concerns from Iranian civil society into dialogue with policymakers and institutions.
Lion and Sun Front promotes the protection of human dignity, human rights and fundamental freedoms, including freedom of expression, freedom of information, press and media freedom, freedom of association and peaceful assembly. We also support democratic principles, pluralism, civic participation, accountable governance, equal rights and the rule of law.
We envision an Iran in which human dignity and fundamental rights are protected, citizens can participate freely in public life, independent media and civil society can operate without repression, and governance is based on law, accountability and democratic participation.
We believe that developments in Iran have consequences beyond its borders and are relevant to European foreign policy, human rights, regional security and long-term stability. For this reason, sustained dialogue between Iranian civil society, European policymakers, experts and democratic institutions is an important part of our work.
